STON
Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 14, 2026
Overview
STON is an iOS workout tracker from CLS Studio. This policy explains what information STON handles, why it is needed, where it is stored, and when it may be shared.
STON keeps your training log on your device and offers optional synchronization through your private Apple iCloud account. It does not operate an account system, analytics service, or developer-controlled data server. It does show advertising through Google AdMob, which is described below.
Information STON Handles
Workout and exercise data
STON stores the training information you enter, including workout names and dates, exercises, sets, weights, repetitions, duration, distance, personal records, custom exercises, routines, and folders. This data is stored in STON's local database. If you enable iCloud Backup in STON, saved workouts, exercises, routines, folders, and import history also synchronize through your private iCloud database.
App settings
STON stores preferences such as weight units, rest timer options, appearance, haptics, and screen-awake behaviour in on-device settings storage.
Imported and exported files
If you import a Strong or STON CSV file, STON reads that file on your device to create workout history. If you export data, STON writes a CSV file to a location you choose. CLS Studio does not receive these files.
How Information Is Used
- Log, review, and continue your workouts.
- Calculate history, personal records, and training analytics on your device.
- Restore your preferences across app launches.
- Synchronize supported STON data across devices signed in to the same Apple Account when you enable iCloud Backup.
- Import and export workout data when you choose those features.
STON does not use your workout log for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or any purpose unrelated to tracking and reviewing your training. Advertising partners do not receive your workout history from STON.
Storage, iCloud, and Retention
STON stores your data locally on your iPhone. When iCloud Backup is enabled in STON, Apple's CloudKit service stores supported data in the private iCloud database associated with your Apple Account and synchronizes it with your other devices using that account. Active workout drafts and app preferences remain on the device. CLS Studio does not operate the iCloud service, receive your synchronized workout data, or have access to your private iCloud database.
You can turn iCloud Backup on or off under Settings → Data in STON. Turning it off stops synchronization on that device but does not delete the existing iCloud copy. Changes made while it is off synchronize if you enable it again. Editing or deleting synchronized data while iCloud Backup is enabled also updates your other synced devices.
Your local data remains until you edit it, use Delete All Personal Data, or delete the app. To remove synchronized personal data from iCloud, use Delete All Personal Data while iCloud Backup is enabled before deleting the app. Deleting the app removes its local data from that device but does not by itself delete an existing iCloud copy. Apple may also include local app data in device backups under Apple's terms.
Advertising
STON shows native ads from Google AdMob on the Analytics screen. AdMob may collect device and advertising information such as IP address, device identifiers, approximate location, app identifiers, and how you interact with ads. Google uses this information to provide, measure, and personalize ads according to your consent choices.
STON does not send your workout history, exercise names, or training statistics to AdMob. Where required, STON presents Google's consent message before requesting ads. If a privacy options entry point is required, you can reopen it from Settings as Ad Privacy Choices.
Google's practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use Google services. You can also reset your advertising identifier in iOS Settings.
Sharing and Selling
- We do not sell user data.
- We do not share workout or exercise data with advertisers.
- We do not use personal or sensitive data for lending.
- Advertising data is collected by Google AdMob as described above, not from your training log.
- Apple processes supported STON data when you enable private iCloud synchronization, as described above.
- Files you export are stored only where you save them. Sharing those files is under your control.
Security
STON minimizes data handling by keeping your training log on your device or, when you choose, in your private iCloud database, and by limiting third-party access to advertising. Device security, passcode or Face ID, iCloud security, and iOS backups are controlled by Apple and by you. No method of storage is completely secure.
Your Choices
You can edit or delete individual workouts, export your data, import data you choose to provide, or use Delete All Personal Data in Settings. You can enable or disable synchronization under Settings → Data → iCloud Backup. Uninstalling STON removes the app's local data from that device but does not automatically remove an existing iCloud copy. Advertising consent and the iOS advertising identifier can be changed in STON Settings or iOS Settings, as applicable.
Children's Privacy
STON is not directed to children under 13, and CLS Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from children through STON.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when STON's features or privacy practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest version.
